Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
Maqasid Tarbiyah: Journal of Islamic Education and Human Flourishing upholds a strict policy against plagiarism in all its forms. The journal considers academic integrity to be a fundamental scholarly and ethical obligation.
Similarity Threshold
All submitted manuscripts are screened using reputable similarity-detection software. Manuscripts must demonstrate a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references and properly attributed direct quotations.
Forms of Plagiarism
The journal considers the following acts to constitute plagiarism or research misconduct:
- Direct copying of text from another source without proper attribution.
- Paraphrasing another author’s ideas, arguments, or data without acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism or the unauthorized reuse of substantial portions of one’s own previously published work.
- Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously (duplicate submission).
- Fabricating or falsifying data, references, or citations.
Consequences
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal will issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines, and may notify the author’s institution.
Author Declaration
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism. Authors are responsible for ensuring full compliance with this policy.
